I'm a student at Union College, Schenectady, New York, finishing a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and plan to continue on to medical school after graduation. I've done both formal and informal tutoring for computer science, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, AP US history, critical reading, and Java, along with SAT, ACT, AP, GRE, and MCAT test preparation. I'm qualified to tutor medical ethics, molecular biology, technical writing, genetics, and evolutionary biology. Biochemistry is my favorite subject to both learn and teach. I especially enjoy helping with preparation for standardized tests, as the test questions are logical, and students can improve their scores vastly by fine-tuning their test-taking skills. I have a passion for biomedical research, and love taking part in laboratory research studies on the different treatments for medical disorders. I feel every student has the ability to be successful and to understand each subject, if a teacher/tutor is willing to appreciate the unique learning style of each student, and find ways to make learning interesting and fun. Outside of the classroom, I'm a voracious reader of nonfiction, and I enjoy listening to music. I like playing the piano and making music, too. I'm an avid tennis player, and occasionally sit down for a little marathon television watching, too.
