I obtained my degree from Northeastern University, earning a master's degree in Teaching. I am state certified to teach grades 1-6 in Massachusetts. I now reside in Ithaca, New York. I enjoy tutoring students in the subjects I know best, including Math and English. I mostly work with students at the elementary level. I assist students with Math in grades 1-5. I also tutor students in basic English and Reading skills. Some students at the elementary level are required to take the Secondary School Admission Test, or SSAT. This test monitors the reading levels, verbal skills, and comprehension of each student. I provide tutoring assistance before the test takes place so each student can be fully prepared for the exam. Rather than letting students learn by reading or having me tell them the answer, I let them learn by doing. I encourage each student to participate and have a hands-on approach to their learning. I do my best to use a variety of teaching styles to help each student come to an understanding of the material.In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, singing, and scrapbooking.
