Acquired key skills in assessment and instruction of learners in grades 5-12 who experience literacy difficulties. Explored literacy history, instruction, and research, as well as relationships between literacy programs and the literacy specialist. MSEd Training and Performance Improvement - Classes in performance analysis, needs analysis, evaluating training design and instruction, return on investment, and educational statistics. Learn to isolate gaps in performance, learning and achievement, close said gaps by designing instruction and programs that are effective and relevant, and improve performance in the classroom and in the workplace.

Experience

I am a Curriculum Consultant who designs and implements professional development and delivers AIS instruction in reading in elementary grades. Prior to that, I taught middle and high school English for 18 years. My students consistently made significant growth in reading and on local, state, and national tests. My classroom was labeled a "Model Classroom for Literacy Instruction" and I was observed on a district level to record best practices for literacy instruction to occur on a district level. I want to be a tutor because I want all students to be able to experience the successes that my students have experienced.

Hobbies

I was also a Zumba instructor, choreographer, performer, and have danced my whole life. I cheered professionally two to professional sports organizations and I love live sporting and music events. I exercise regularly and read both for pleasure and for learning. Variety helps the mind and body grow!
